my02.com — Behind the scenes

Vibe Coded
with AI

This site was rebuilt from scratch in a single extended conversation with Claude. No web developer. No design agency. Just a BMW enthusiast, a lot of old forum posts, and an AI that could read them.

my02.com has existed since 2001. For most of that time it was a static site — pages added manually, HTML written by hand, updated whenever there was time and motivation. The content was always there. The design fell behind. In 2026, the whole thing was rebuilt in a single extended conversation with Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant.

The process was conversational. Describe a page. Point to a forum thread. Share a folder of images. The AI read old Xoutpost threads, pulled the narrative out of your own posts, and turned them into proper pages with the right voice. It cross-referenced dates, filled in context, organised photos by day, and built a design system consistent enough that every page on the site feels like it belongs. It wrote the story of selling the 4.8is — fourteen years, 194,000 miles, car seat to front seat — better than a first draft written from scratch would have.

The result is the site you are looking at. Forty-plus pages. Ten cars. Eight travel destinations. Eleven mod guides. All the images already on the server, wired up. All the old forum posts, turned into narrative. The site my02.com always should have been, built in days instead of years.

It is not a replacement for knowing what you want to say. The stories, the opinions, the voice — those are real. The AI just got them out of forum threads and into a site that a person might actually want to read.

How it worked
The content
Twenty-five years of BMW ownership documented across Xoutpost, Bimmerfest, and a NAS full of photos. The stories were already written — just scattered across forum threads under the username propellerhead.
The process
Share a thread URL. The AI fetches it, finds your posts, extracts the narrative, and writes a page in your voice. Share a screenshot of a folder. The AI reads the filenames and wires up every image. Point to a folder on the server. Done.
The design
A consistent design system — one typeface family, one colour palette, one set of CSS classes — applied across every page. Built once, used everywhere. Every page feels like it belongs to the same site.
The writing
The AI read the 4.8is sale thread and produced the line: “She came home from the hospital in the 3.0 when she was 4lbs 9oz. She rode in the Blue one from car seat to front seat.” That is a direct quote from a forum post. The AI just put it where it belongs.
The result
A site worth reading. Not just a photo album — a record of twenty-five years behind the wheel, with stories attached to every car and every trip. The kind of thing you would want to exist before it is too late to make it.
The tool

Built with Claude by Anthropic — an AI assistant that can read, write, build, and reason. The entire site was produced in a single extended conversation. If you want to do something similar with your own content, start at claude.ai.
